What to Expect at Ewing Chiropractic
At Ewing Chiropractic, we want you to know exactly what to expect from the moment you walk through our doors. Once your appointment is booked, our friendly receptionist will be waiting to greet you. From there, we take the time to understand you, your pain, and your health history completely so we can create a care plan that fits your needs.
Request an AppointmentStep 1: Check-In and Paperwork
When you arrive, you will be asked to complete intake paperwork unless you have already filled out your new patient form at home. This paperwork asks about your family history, because some issues in the body can be hereditary (though that does not mean they cannot be helped). It also includes questions about your health habits, medical history, and current symptoms. We want to cover all the bases so we can help you as much as possible.
Step 2: Health History Consultation
Next, you will sit down with our chiropractor to discuss what brought you in. Be sure to share everything about the pain you are experiencing and any other symptoms you may have, such as numbness, tingling, headaches, or stiffness. Let us know when the problem started, what makes it better or worse, and how it affects your daily life.
Step 3: Examination
Your examination may require you to move around and possibly lie down so we can get a better feel for what is going on. We may evaluate your posture, range of motion, joint function, muscle strength, reflexes, and areas of tenderness.
Step 4: X-Rays When Needed
Depending on your injury, X-rays may or may not be required. Most of the time, we take X-rays to get a clear look at your spine. They are typically needed only for new patients or when there is a change in your condition.
Step 5: Reviewing Your Findings and Care Plan
After your examination, the chiropractor will discuss your condition and your options. Together, you will decide what you are comfortable with and create a game plan to help you. Your plan may include chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, rehabilitation exercises, or pain management strategies.
Follow-Up Visits
Follow-up appointments are typically shorter and focus on treatment and tracking your progress. As you improve, your plan may shift from symptom relief toward strengthening, injury prevention, and wellness care.

What to Expect FAQs
What happens when I arrive for my appointment?
Our receptionist will greet you and check you in. New patients will complete intake paperwork if they have not already filled out their forms at home.
Why do you ask about my family history?
Some conditions affecting the body can be hereditary. Knowing your family history helps us understand your health more completely and plan appropriate care.
Will I need X-rays at my first visit?
X-rays are often taken to get a good look at your spine, but they are not always needed. They are typically taken for new patients or when your condition changes.
What does the chiropractic examination involve?
The exam may include moving through different positions and lying down so the chiropractor can assess posture, range of motion, joint function, strength, and tender areas.
Do I get a say in my treatment plan?
Yes. Your chiropractor will explain your condition and options, and together you will decide on a plan you are comfortable with.
Are follow-up visits shorter than the first visit?
Yes. Follow-up visits generally focus on treatment and monitoring progress, so they usually take less time than your initial appointment.
